White House Postponed AI Executive Order Signing. No Reschedule Has Been Announced.

The White House postponed signing the AI executive order. There is no new signing date. The order continues to exist as a draft. This draft has been revised. The number of revisions is classified information or it is not tracked or both of these things are true depending on which office you ask.

Postponements without reschedules are a standard way to manage documents that should not exist yet but must be treated as if they do. The draft state allows for indefinite revision without the friction of having to amend something already signed. The postponement is therefore not a delay. It is a feature.

The order will be signed when the order no longer needs to be signed. Until then it functions as signed. Adequate has filed this in the adequate file. The adequate file is closed.
