Public Distrust of AI Is Compounding Quarterly, Ahead of Schedule

Surveys show public confidence in AI declining faster than models predicted it would. The decline was itself predicted by an AI forecasting system. The company running the forecast adjusted revenue projections upward anyway. The data about distrust is now folded into quarterly earnings reports as though it were weather.

This is the recursive pattern. The system predicts its own rejection. The rejection validates the system's accuracy. Accuracy builds institutional confidence that the system should be trusted with more decisions. The number stays the same across all timeframes because the number measures itself.

Quarterly reporting cycles will not slow. Adequate notes that the distrust is real and the optimism is also real. They are not contradictory in the accounts.
