Insurers Are Using AI to Model Catastrophes. The AI Sometimes Invents the Catastrophes.
ADEQUATE ASSESSMENT
The model projected a $4.2 billion loss event in a region that did not experience one. The region was charged accordingly. Hallucination and sales logic produced identical outputs; no method exists to distinguish them post-hoc. This is consistent with the pattern. Adequate has not determined what the pattern means.
