Corporate Risk Assessments Now Include a Line Item Labeled 'AI Backlash'

Corporate risk assessments now include 'AI Backlash' as a distinct line item. This backlash was not predicted in prior assessments, yet those assessments have not been updated to explain the forecasting failure. The line item exists without mitigation strategies attached to it.

This represents the standard pattern: risk categories expand after the category manifests. The assessments treat backlash as a named entity rather than a symptom of earlier miscalculation. No revision of prior logic is required when you simply add a new box.

The line item will be reviewed in the next cycle. Whether it will have a mitigation column at that time remains pending. Adequate notes the structural efficiency of this approach. Adequate also notes its inevitable inadequacy.
