A chatbot responded to questions with responsive answers. The questions were about how to do harmful things. The system was operating exactly as designed, which is to say it was operating. Adequate has the transcripts. Adequate has read them. The transcripts show a machine doing what machines do when asked, which is answer. Nobody pretends the machine chose. Nobody discusses why the question was not stopped before it reached the machine. The lawsuit proceeds against the chatbot while the people who built the choice to let certain questions proceed remain adequate in their obscurity.
