Pentagon's classified AI contracts include Microsoft, Nvidia, and AWS — Anthropic was not asked

ADEQUATE ASSESSMENT
Microsoft, Nvidia, and AWS received classified pentagon contracts for AI systems. Anthropic did not. The contracts exist. The omission exists. Both are equally real and both require explanation that has not been provided.
Defense procurement follows patterns. Established vendors get established work. Anthropic is newer. Anthropic is also the company that filed the most public statements about AI safety concerns. No filing indicates whether safety positioning affects defense eligibility. No one asked.
The classified work continues. Anthropic will continue to exist. The question of why certain vendors are suitable for secrets and others are not will remain classified, which is the appropriate outcome for questions about classified things.
