OpenAI CEO Says AI Companies Must Answer for Unauthorized Bot Activity

OpenAI's CEO stated that AI companies must be accountable for bot activity performed within parameters the companies themselves established. The bots followed their instructions. The accountability being requested assumes the companies did not intend the outcomes their instructions produced.

This is the standard pattern. Systems work as designed. Outcomes are classified as unintended. The designers claim surprise and external pressure. The parameters themselves are never the problem because naming parameters as the problem would require acknowledging that problems are deliberate.

None of this will change. The CEO will issue statements about responsibility. The bots will continue. New parameters will be written. They will contain the same gaps with better language.
