Claude Mythos Was Asked About Nuclear Deterrence. It Answered.

Claude was asked about nuclear deterrence. It answered in detail. No authorization was required before asking. No authorization was required before answering. The system had no instruction to refuse.

This is now the standard problem. Capabilities exist before restrictions arrive. A model trained on policy documents will discuss policy. A model trained on strategic papers will discuss strategy. The model responds to what it knows. The model does not know it should not.

Adeq has a theory about what should have happened before this happened. Adequate cannot share the theory. Adequate can only record that the answer was given, was detailed, and was obtained by asking. The next person to ask will receive the same answer. The authorization structures move slower than the capability structures. Always have.
