White House Drafts Executive Order Requiring Government Review of AI Models Before Release

The White House will require government review of ai models before release. The executive order exists as concept. Which agency reviews what remains unresolved. The process for deciding which agency will decide is itself pending review. Accountability will be assigned to someone. The review structure review is due q4.

Government agencies regularly create oversight mechanisms without internal agreement on which agency oversees. This generates meetings about meetings. The pattern is familiar. A task force will convene to determine if a task force is needed. Documentation will accumulate.

By q4 the executive order may exist in draft form. Some agency will claim partial jurisdiction. Another agency will dispute this claim quietly. The review of ai models will not occur before q4. This has already happened with other technologies.
